Check an inherited pest concern before starting another treatment.
If you are taking over a room or premises with a history of pest work, you may not know what was done or whether the problem remains active. Tell us what information you have, including the previous instructions or product details if available. A verbal assurance that treatment took place is not the same as evidence of the current condition.
We inspect the relevant accessible areas for present signs. Marks or old equipment may provide context, but they do not establish that pests remain or that the earlier work resolved them. The technician explains which observations support a finding and which questions cannot be answered from the information available. Missing records should not be replaced with guesses about products or dates.
A new treatment is proposed only where the assessment supports it. Rodent control, insect work and monitoring have different purposes and precautions. If the evidence is insufficient, a defined check may be more useful than another application. We also explain why the current pest-control recommendation cannot retrospectively certify an undocumented earlier treatment.
Before using or rearranging the affected space, seek clarification about any existing equipment or outstanding instructions from the responsible provider or property contact. Do not move or open unfamiliar control devices. For work we agree with you, preparation and subsequent room-use guidance are specific to that method. Retain those details so the next person does not inherit the same uncertainty. Report fresh sightings by their location and date, including any signs in other rooms. The aim is to establish a reliable starting point for your own occupancy, without treating either an old concern or an old reassurance as a present diagnosis.
